A lot of us – me included - sometimes talk about how social media is such a deluded place. But I have to say how grateful I am to it. It is a place that has allowed me to find liked minded, but more importantly mind expanders that led me to truths I knew in my heart, but didn’t see talked about in real life.
We have a choice to choose what we consume. It can either grow us or destroy us.
I used to be rooted in the mind when I was young. I thought being practical and realistic was smart when I later learned it is only limiting.
The world is rooted in logic and the mind. But we’ve seen in today’s world what logic can create. How it can twist words, lead with fear instead of the heart. Do things that we know to be wrong. In the book 1984, we see how “big brother” could brainwash them to believe 2+2=5. What is fear leading us to believe today?
Instead, why not listen to the heart, the body. We really do know best. If something feels wrong - it is. I’ve seen it in the work place. We see it everyday life. If the mind could create the holocaust and locking children in camps today, then what else can the mind tell itself it is just and right. Even when the we have learned clearly and been taught in history how our country has wronged people with the Japanese Internment camps during WWII - our administration still thought this was a viable solution based on judgements by the mind. Completely illogical things are done because it’s the way it’s always been done. When we treat others how we want to be treated, but also go beyond that to realized we need to treat others how THEY want to be treated. Accept that others may want to be treated a different way than us. Empathize that everyone is different
Everyone has different viewpoints which is beautiful. I’m not saying I know everything either. It took me a while to be open and learn for myself because we all grow up with certain biases. I consider myself an open minded person. To not only understand, but accept that we are all able to have different points of view. Even if we don’t personally understand it we can respect it – the caveat being that as long as it doesn’t harm someone else.
I decided it’s irresponsible and selfish for me not share what has helped me and maybe could help someone else. I understand some people want to keep social media fluffy because it’s an escape. I respect that. But I personally feel if we don’t talk about things that matter, then what’s the point?
This leads me to share the below resources that not only help you to understand yourself better (as we sometimes lose ourselves), but others. I truly think learning to understand others and respect our differences (and not take it as a personal offense) is the way to healing and evolving.
7 Resources That Changed My Life
Economics and Psychology Minor in College
Myers Briggs Test - Personality test to learn about yourself and others
Deepak Chopra - Learning Meditation
Oprah and her Super Soul Sunday Interviews
Astrology Reading – Never cared for astrology. But after having very “logical friends” talk to me about astrology as a whole - not talking daily horoscopes as those don’t fit everyone. And finally having an astrology chart reading by a renowned professional that changed my life - I decided why shouldn’t the planets affect us when we come from the same place they were made? When the moon affects the water and we are 80% water. Why wouldn’t the other planets affect us as well? The astrologist mentioned I was a projector in Human Design which lead me to next topic…
Human Design - Ultimately understanding Human Design was the key to everything for me. It opened up the world and my understanding of myself. Why certain things had worked, and why trying to be like others hadn’t worked for me. It gave me SO much clarity and peace. It’s understanding your human design and energy type and how to best interact in the world for success. My life has made so much more sense. Learning our energy type and who we are in this world is priceless. Luckily moving to LA I found an amazing Human Design reader Jenna Zoe. https://www.jennazoe.com
Lacy’s Free and Native Manifestations - This was the last piece that I learned through an in person podcast recording. Lacy talks about how if we don’t clean up our subconscious - no matter what our waking intetnions are - we may continue to have patterns in our life. Lacy’s course helps you to dig deep and remove any blocks or self limiting beliefs you didn’t know were there. Or you did, but you didn’t realize how much it was affecting you and your daily life and what you believe is possible for you to achieve.
Learning this also shows how we impact each other SO much. Espeically growing up. How we can harm each other with our words and actions. Even minor things that may not seem like anything to us can have an affect on others. It’s learning responsilbity for this. Not self hatred, but forgiveness to ourselves and others so we’re all free to move on, but learn from the past. When we undertand how others have hurt us, even when it isn’t there intention – we can learn that our actions can have the same effect on others. https://www.freeandnative.com
